Blackwing Two-Step Long Point Pencil Sharpener

Bought purely as it was the obvious choice to successfully sharpen the Blackwing 602 pencils I purchased. Rather than the usual stick your pencil in and sharpen away this is a much more measured and possibly kinder approach to sharpening these legendary pencils. Although you will have to empty the sharpener after each pencil is sharpened in this two stage process (which isn’t really a problem), it is a recommended purchase albeit being way overpriced but purely because of its branding so loses a star for being poor value.

I love the concept and the look of this, it is well made. I also love a pencil and keeping it sharp as I write with a pencil most work days. I have found this sharpener does not get the lead to as sharp a point as I would like unfortunately. It will not replace my everyday desk one but it is in my work travel bag for days away from the office.
Update 18/10/2024 - It seems user error was at play and I now have the sharpest point known to man! You need to give the pencil a really good go in the wood slot first before moving to the graphite slot, also whilst emptying I found the 2 replacement blades! Bonus!

Love my Blackwing Two-Step Long Point pencil sharpener. Once I got the hang of using it, it does the job perfectly and you do get a beautiful long point. Very happy with my purchase😊
